Join us for our 2nd Comet Workshop, building on the incredible success of last year’s event with Comet Tsuchinshan (C/2023 A3), where participants walked away with epic images which included unforgettable shots over the Space Needle and Mount Adams. For Comet Lemmon (C/2025 A6), we’re raising the bar even higher. As expert weather forecasters, we know how to chase down the clearest skies and pair them with the most striking compositions possible. Since the release of this workshop we have a new Comet just discovered - Comet Swan (C/2025 R2 SWAN) that will be in the sky as the same time as Lemmon. This gives us 2 targets in the sky to work in with landscapes and potentially capture the 2 comets and the Milky Way all in one frame!
Over the course of 4 nights, you’ll not only photograph this once-in-a-lifetime comet in breathtaking locations with access to star trackers, but also learn how to plan, edit, and forecast future night-sky events with confidence. Together with my good friend and space weather aficionado Mark Stewart, we’ll guide you every step of the way, from field shooting to understanding aurora science. You'll leave with unique images and the skills to become a true comet chaser and better overall night time shooter.
We have a long list of epic lineups and shot ideas we plan to implement with the class. You will fly into Salt Lake City, UT and we will guide you on the multi list of locations once you sign up.
BEGINNER - ADVANCED
*Preferably the ability to use manual mode on your camera but 1st timers to well advanced night time shooters are all welcome!
